Lincoln Park Zoo's location among Chicago's industrious skyscrapers makes the zoo its own untamed hideaway. Admission to the Zoo is completely free, so why not bring your child or grandchild to explore its many exhibits. There are plenty of animals to see: mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds from all around the world. Perhaps you would like to hop around with the Red kangaroo from Australia, or go for a swim with the Dwarf Crocodile from West Africa. In addition to the individual exhibits, the Zoo also has animal houses, such as the Helen Brach Primate House and the McCormick Bear Habitat. The Zoo is easy to navigate and there are numerous maps around the grounds, plus staff members at each exhibit to answer your questions about the animals or point you in the right direction. You are guaranteed to have a wild time at Lincoln Park Zoo. The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum was originally founded in 1857 and is now owned and operated by the Chicago Academy of Sciences. Its kid-friendly engaging exhibits connect humans to nature, while learning about the diversity of our universe. The Museum presents temporary and permanent exhibits, such as the Judy Stock Butterfly Haven, which is very popular among the children and the Wilderness Walk, a recreation of the world's biomes complete with animal sounds and preserved animals. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
