The Museum of Science and Industry is a fun and engaging experience for the entire family. With its permanent exhibits and constantly evolving interactive experiences, the Museum of Science and Industry will keep you busy for hours on end, and even then you may not have explored the entire 400,000 square foot exhibit space. If you are interested in the history of industry, the Coal Mine exhibit is for you. It was the Museum's first interactive exhibit and continues to be one of the most popular, as it teaches about the evolution of mining technology in a recreated mine shaft. Or perhaps space intrigues you. The Earth Revealed: Live exhibit shows you an up-close view of Earth's atmosphere, ocean currents, weather and more as patterns are projected onto a spherical screen from data collected at the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration. An absolute must-see exhibit is the U-505 Submarine, the German submarine in the United States captured during World War II. The museum is huge and packed with an endless amount of things to see and do, so be sure to budget your time wisely.
