The Utah State Fair sits on the nationally recognized historic Fair Park grounds and occurs the first Thursday after Labor Day, lasting for eleven days. If one were to describe the Utah State Fair in one word, it would be "tradition," for the very first Utah State Fair was held in 1856, during which time the Fair was characterized by residents putting their finest handicrafts on display. Nowadays, the Fair features its renowned "Grandstand Line-up," comprised of big-name musical artists from around the country. Additionally, the Fair offers general entertainment, from magic shows to the traditional barrel racing.
