One of the best kept secrets in downtown Indianapolis is our historic Art Deco salon and spa located on the second floor of the Circle Tower. Our spa is the show place of the Circle Tower Building designed in 1929 by the noted architectural firm of Rubish & Hunter. The salon operated as a men's barbershop from 1929 to 1989 under two successive owners. Then, Linda Williams and Mel Brandenburg acquired the space, updated and expanded the salon and reopened in December 1989 as Studio 2000. In January of 2000, a major expansion and renovation was undertaken to add a complete spa and expanded salon operation. The salon carries on the Art Deco elements found throughout the building in an updated "industrial pop" atmosphere that now overlooks Monument Circle in the space once occupied by the former Del Frisco's restaurant. The spa was carefully designed to revolve around the original Art Deco interior of the barbershop now used as the "relaxation room" where our robed guests lounge between spa services. The interior of the spa has been hailed by historians and architects as the best surviving example of an original Art Deco interior in the world. Olympic-style silver in laid figurines and ziggurats gracethe black tile walls with "Lucky Lindy" style airplanes flying through storm clouds and lightning bolts, high above each corner. From the original custom floor to the hammered metal detail on the furniture, the spa inspires creativity from the moment you walk in. We are proud to carry on a tradition of personal service in this most stimulating and timeless environment.
