During late October to early November, the George R. Brown Convention Center is transformed into a showroom displaying hundreds of quilts sewn by artists from around the world. The International Quilt Festival attracts over 60,000 amateurs and connoisseurs eager to learn and marvel at the talent before them. These are not your grandma's quilts, as they are meant to be hung like tapestries to display their beauty and craftsmanship more so than to decorate the bed.
