Built in 1914 and hosting the Chicago Cubs since 1916, Wrigley Field, or, "The Friendly Confines," is the second oldest Major League ballpark. The Field's rich history only adds to its famous name that young boys in their baseball caps and gloves have been repeating for decades. Its ivy-covered outfield wall, red marquis installed in 1934 and hand-turned scoreboard all contribute to Wrigley's fame. Wrigley Field has seen many of the greats in baseball-from Babe Ruth in the 1932 World Series to Sammy Sosa's 60th home run in 1998. An outing to Wrigley Field with the entire family provides not only the entertainment and pleasure of watching good ole' American baseball, but it also presents a fantastic opportunity to learn about and experience a historical Chicago staple.
