Top chef winner Stephanie Izard is not afraid to push past the boundaries on food creativity at her unique establishment, the Girl & the Goat on West Randolph Street. There is not a boring dish on the menu, as one of their signature dishes is wood-oven roasted pig face, with an unexpected combination of sunny side up egg, tamarind, cilantro and red-wine maple with potato sticks. For those less adventurous eaters, the Girl & the Goat also offers more traditional entrees that are packed with flavor such as wood-fired chicken and salmon. The menu is split into three main sections: Vegetables, Fish and Meats and fresh bread is baked daily. However, ingredients do overlap to create more comprehensible and sometimes unanticipated scrumptious flavors. The menu changes frequently, but signatures and fan favorites tend to stick around. The restaurant opens at 4:30pm, and is generally packed, so it is advisable to either make a reservation or show up right when the doors open.
